We have moved!

Yorkshire Cider is now producing in Pickering. A quarter of a mile from the town centre we have a new cider house at Moorland Trout Farm. With ample parking and the opportunity to visit a working trout farm and feed the fish we are now even more accessible; whether you’re visiting the North York Moors railway or a regular seasonal visitor to the farm, pop in to the farm shop and find out about us.

New for 2008 – apple juice

With the surplus fruit we have from cider making and as a result of regular requests we are now producing Yorkshire apple juice. Made with the juice of fruit from local orchards this 100% natural product is available from selected local outlets as well as our own shop on site. Please phone for more details.

New season cider

With 2008 definitely here we’re busy bottling our new season’s ciders. With the acquisition of new fermentation and maturation vats quality and consistency is achievable beyond what was possible even just last year. All ciders are available bottled or in draught containers holding 5 pints. You can even bring your own containers for filling if you wish.

We’ve just managed to acquire 4 acres of land for the planting of cider orchard literally two minutes walk away from the cider house. Planting of traditional cider apple trees will help supplement our own seasonal demand and, we hope, make for an additional point of interest for visitors. We are currently looking at managing the asset as a community orchard, primarily for the benefit of the local village population. Locals will help maintain and run the orchard in a sustainable way as a social enterprise; the harvested fruit being sold to the cider house. The site will also be a focus for community activities and educational visits by local schools. The orchard will be managed organically with all trees being of standard size.
